What is the Polymer Intelligent Material?

When it is heated, the polymer molecules tumble like noodles in boiling water and discard their ice-jackets, allowing the fibres to coalesce. In most cases, this transition can be made within two or three degrees of temperature difference and is reversible.

Buildings with "skin" like this can adapt to their surroundings. When the weather is cold, it becomes transparent to let the sun in; when the weather is warm and sunlight must be blocked, it becomes translucent. A skylight with a cloud cover provides a relatively constant amount of incoming light as the sun moves from one end of the sky to the other. Multilayer glass filled with cloud glue can be used not only as a ceiling but also as a wall.
